Right, Big Brother has been on for around 10 years now I think, something like that anyway (I dont keep count), and its just getting too much of a muchity now.

At first, (the first say 2 or 3 series) were great, it was a new thing, nothing like it had been done before (not in england anyway!) and we were hooked, it was the one show a night, with an eviction on Friday night, but since then its just snowballed.....

The newer series of Big Brother have way too many attached shows:
Big Brother
Big Brother Live (on E4 pretty much 24/7)
Big Brothers Big Mouth
Big Brothers Little Brother
A show to do with the psychologies of the show

When the show is on, it just completely takes over TV, Channel 4 shows Big brother for an hour a night, which would be fine if that was all, but for 3 months of the year, we're subjected to all the above programmes.

E4 is taken over completely by Big Brother, its shown live from about 10pm through to around 2pm the next day, and inbetween this the shows are normally the previous nights Big brother, big brothers big mouth, and other stupid shows. Only an hour or so is left for the regular programmes like Hollyoaks, Gilmore Girls, Scrubs, Joan of Arcadia...these are barely even shown! :-(

The other channels take off good shows at the time Big Brother is on (normally 9 or 10pm) as they dont want to compete for viewings, so it ends up if you dont like Big Brother, theres nothing else to watch!!

Now onto the show itself, sorry for ranting!!

Its hard to tell you about the actualy show as it differs each year. But normally, its 12 housemates thrown into a house, they've never met, never spoken.

The people:
Normally a bunch of unaverage people, dorks, tranvestites, loud mouthes, snotty, angry, chavvy, ugly, pretty. Never an average everyday person will enter the big brother house, theres always something about them which makes them that little abnormal. Or "good" to watch, i.e. one of the housemates one year had tourettes....Big brother brought him in as they knew people would laugh at his condition, he'd bring in viewers...to me thats kind of making fun out of a serious condition, its like bringing a cancer patient in and having a good giggle about it....its not right.

When the show is on, the housemates have weekly tasks to get a food budget, this is normally something starnge like lying in fish suits in fish inards all day, or using a treadmill for 24 hours between them, or something like that. if they don't pass the task they live off £1 a day per housemate, working out at £84 a week for 12 people in the beginning (probably done my maths wrong there!!!) If they pass they get a "luxery" shopping budget where they can buy alcohol, and treats like chocolate etc.

Each week, the housemates go into the "diary room" (a room where they can release their feelings about other housemates and how they're feeling themselves, in private, the other housemates dont know what is said in that room, but we can see them), when there, they vote for two people to go "up for nomination" and then the public vote for who they want to be evicted from the house, this happens every week, sometimes there is a twist, such as two people will be evicted, or someone new will enter instead.

The show normally consists in groups appearing within the housemates, and arguements following suit, which the producers love as it brings in the viewers (not me!).

The show is just basically sitting in your house, watching people sitting in a house. They fight they argue, so why do we watch it.

In conclusion, it takes over TV, its boring, its full of stupid people we dont want to see, and it results in people who think they're celebrities.

It should be axed, its terrible, its forever in the headlines for something or other, its just a waste of TV airtime when you could put something decent on the screen!!!
