I watched the 1st few years of Big Brother when I was younger and found it really interesting, though as the years went on I found it getting more and more silly and annoying to the point that I just didnt watch it after the 4th series. This year however I went off to university and started living the student life, and as most people are familiar with students dont have that much money so at the end of term which was also the start of the new and 10th series of Big Brother, I found myself low on funds for going out and socialising and so in the house watching the new contestants, almost all looking for fame and fortune entering the house.

The general concept of the reality gameshow that is Big Brother is that 10 contestants are put into a house, they must live together in this small space while being broadcast on tv almost 24 hours of the time, they nomintate people to leave once a week and then the people with the most nominations are put up for eviction and the public then vote on who to keep in or to leave the house. Every week the contestants also do a range of fun and silly challenges for different privilages, e.g. luxury shopping budgets, alcohol or partys, sweets, letters from home and other prizes.

This year, to my own shame and suprize, I found the show really interesting, I think that the mix of characters are more human like and less trampy or in love with themselves than some of the other previous years, I especially liked Freddy who was voted out recently as he was really into the game and quite interesting to watch his gameplan. Though at the moment my favourite to win is Roderigo or Charlie.

I am glad that I gave Big Brother a chance this year, though I do find it annoying when the live converage at night takes over E4, and am not the biggest fan of Big Brothers Big Mouth.

The winner of Big Brother gets prize money of I think 100 grand though it may be less than this, and alot of contestants get different magazine deals and make money in other ways.

The show is on at 10pm most nite or sometimes at 9pm, on channel 4 every night for one hour, though Friday nights eviction runs from 8.30pm until 9.30pm and then from 10pm to 11pm when one more contestant is voted out of the house.
