Big Brother: the mother of all reality tv shows. I actually only watched this series on and off, but my god have I been addicted in the past. A couple of years ago, I was never seen on a summer evening, and god forbid that I would go out on a friday night...that's eviction night you know! If I did go out, it was a case of sky plussing it, then taping it as well (in the days before 4od came along) and even then I'd try and be back by 10!

The concept

15 people (or was it more this year?!) stuck in a house together for about 3 months. Sound boring? Well it's not: they choose some real characters (some may say wierdos) who will clash, make you laugh, make you sigh, make you yell at the tv in pure hatred/disbelief. The things people do when they get bored, it really opens your eyes to the amount of back stabbing that goes on...Every week they have to do a task, which can be anything from putting on a play, to staging a fake wedding. Or sitting in a can of tuna?! These are always amusing, as are the nominations, where each housemate has to choose two other housemates, with a reason, that they want to be put up for eviction.

The eviction nights are the best, as the public vote for who they want to leave, and it is always fun to root for the one you like and hope that the other one will be kicked out!

There have been some real water-cooler moments over the years, and BB has supplied me with many a good gossip about the people. I am most upset next year's will be the last. It's been great!

Summary: Pure car crash tv....love it.
