Advantages: Great fun and entertaining tasks
Disadvantages: Tedious episode, nominations and unnecessarily addictive to watch
Big Brother sees around 16 strangers entering a house every year, then being evicted one by one till a winner is crowned while us viewers sit at home watching this so called "reality TV show"
Far from reality Big Brother, creates a different house each year and let's the guinea pigs in for the rest of the summer. Seeming to have a weirder and weirder group of people each year it's a wonder why I haven't given up watching yet.
Big Brother is aired every day (yes EVERY DAY) for around 9 weeks over summer, broadcasting the previous days highlights. This is followed by a live show on Friday where a housemate is evicted and then interviewed by Divina. The really makes Saturday shows quite boring as they are just highlights of yesterdays eviction. The friday shows are good, Divina often conducts some entertaining interviews and the contestants best bits are quite fun to watch too.
The show itself combines various tasks from shopping tasks to nominations to push the contestants to their limits, when a great task is set, the show is brilliant with great humorous moments that you are sure to talk about to your friends the following day. However as tasks come weekly the rest of the shows can get tedious at times, watching paint dry may actually have been a better use of the hour. Especially for nominations. This is what makes the biggest problem, you want to watch it to catch the funny moments but it;s really not worth watching every show just in case something happens. But alas, I find myself watching every episode.
Overall Big Brother is a mediocre attempt at a reality TV show, being very tedious at times and producing some quite controversial stuff. It's a case of love it or hate it, but either way there's always something to talk about with Big Brother
Summary: An OK show that is suitable to watch in times of incredible boredom
