Advantages: Perfect mindless telly

Disadvantages: At times, it's so dull, I kick myself for allowing myself to watch it

I was 15 when Big Brother first came out so was the ideal target age the producers were looking for to watch a new trendy programme about a bunch of people in a house. I was addicted to the first series, but as the years went on I really lost interest. Whether that was because I was growing up, or the show got worse, I don't know. However, when I say I lost interest, that's not to say I stopped watching it all together. It just means that I grew tired of tuning in at 2 am and watching people sleep! It soon dawned on me that watching snoring people through night vision cameras was pretty pathetic. Thank goodness, about 1 or 2 years ago, Channel 4 decided to stop the live coverage during the day (and regular viewers of the live show would agree that when the show muted the conversations of some housemates because they were swearing, or talking about brand names, or talking about their family was REALLY annoying) I would usually tune into the
eviction shows to see what guff the evicted person would come out with during their interview with Davina and to see if my predicted person was evicted (sometimes a fun game to play with people at your office). What I like about the programme, is that if you miss a couple of shows, or go on holiday for a week during the summer, when you tune back in, you really haven't missed much, you can work out who was evicted, and keep watching it like you never left! It was obvious to see that as the years went on, the producers became more desperate for interesting characters and it was really disappointing when these characters didn't live up to their "ker-razy" application auditions. So, to actually REVIEW this programme - it's good for mindless telly on a Friday night, and you can always have a giggle at the insanely stupid tasks the creators of the show make the housemates do. This summer will be the last series of it, and I will be tuning in, hoping that the producers will go all out for the last series, since they have nothing to lose.

Summary: Good idea, but was never meant to last
