Advantages: Fantastic viewing

Disadvantages: Why did they show the last episode on Friday night?

I was surprised to see there was no subcategory for Celebrity Big Brother. In my opinion it is an almost unrelated show. True, it took place in the same nasty building where we first met the twelve original Big Brother contestents we all learnt to know over the summer, and the structure of the show was similar. But, I think that the atmosphere in the house was calmer, the celebrity contestents were not fame and attention-seeking, and there was no conflict or sexual tension which (in my opinion) became boring in the last series. It was a great insight into the 'real' personalities of the people we watch on television almost every day. And the fact it lasted a week was great, because it meant that it remained fresh!

It also provided great comedy, like when Jack tried to run away, then proceeded to tell tales about his whereabouts to the group. And though Vanessa's desire to furiously scribble oevr the dining was quite sad, I couldn't help but smile at the time. There were also some touching moments for those old romantics. I bet some of you cried when Vanessa spoke to Jack about her difficulties, when Anthea left, and when Jack ran out to his wife outside half way through the week. The show provided some very interesting viewing, and could not have worked better. Surely everyone agrees with that!

For all those cynics who believe it was produced to restart the careers of a group of B-list celebrities..Well? I personally believe that noone would sacrifice a whole week in a small, ugly building which they have to share with complete strangers, where they are bossed around and made to complete silly tasks, where they are being constantly watched just to kick off their career. I think it admirable that such celebrities were prepared to take part in this project for charity. Surely, just by being celebrities they were putting much at risk! Look at poor Vanessa - ever since she left she has been ridculed.

My opinion
of the celebrities featured has changed since watching the show. Chris Eubank is wierd, but took his eviction well so I'll give 6/10 for him.
Vanessa Feltz, still troubled by her marriage breakdown, she perhaps shouldn't have agreed to take part. 4/10 for her attention-seeking antics.
Anthea Turner was lovely and I didn't want to see her leave. It just wasn't the same without her there. 9/10
Keith Duffy wasn't singing as well as I thought he would, but he kept up morale and cheered up a miserable Jack so 8/10.
Claire Sweeney, the least known of all contestents. Wasn't she just so sweet? The only scouser who doesn't irritate me...10/10 for her.
Jack Dee looked adorable in his peak cap with his suitcase ready every eviction time, but he took a little while to settle in so 9/10 for him.

I know most people will have watched at least one episode of the show, and many. like me, will have almost become addicted. So what's your opinion?
