Advantages: ....it has got a finite lifespan

Disadvantages: ...but that's much too long

It's going to be a ratings winner, no doubt about that. And we don't have anyone to blame for that except ourselves. Channel 4 claims Big Brother is 'a serious experiment in human interaction' - yeah right! In fact, this is television at its most voyeuristic. The idea that anyone is going to interact normally when cooped up with a load of strangers, under 24 hour national surveillance and with 70K at stake is at best ludicrous.

My only remaining hope for the programme is that none of the competitors will follow the Dutch example and become minor celebraties by have sex on live TV. I don't think we've sunk quite that low yet. But - it's probably only a matter of time.

We get the TV we deserve they say - so some of us must have been unbelievably bad - just like this show.
