I'm a bit young (ahem) to remember the original series but I vaguely remember the 6 million dollar man and had one of those dolls with the infra-red eye or something and also Steve Austin pjamas and a t-shirt or something...wasn't the bionic woman supposed to be his cousin or something-thats how these things normally work at any rate... Our own Zoë Slater from East Enders is gone to America to play the role of Bionic woman. Michelle Ryan who played the character is star of this new TV show in America. I have seen original Bionic Woman shows on TV, these date from the 70's. In this newer version of the show, much of the background is same as before. I was looking forward to watching the first episode of bionic woman last night on itv2 at 9pm. It has Michelle Ryan who played Zoe Slater in eastenders in the lead role as Jaime Summers, bionic woman. The plot to this goes that Jaime is struggling to pay her bills working as a bar maid in california wholst helping her sister. Jaime is nearly killed in a car accident and only survives after her boyfriend performs a major operation never attempted before, he gives her prosetic ear, eye, legs and right arm aswell as implants, all these prosetics give Jaime a super power which means she is stronger and faster than anyone else. please dont be put off by poor revies from the states, or even the fact that an ex eastender is in the cast. This show is great, i doesnt take itself serious and its enjoyable like it should be, kit takes me back to when i was a kid again, i enjoyed the original and i enjoy it now. The Bionic Woman is an American TV drama however the star of the show is an English actress Michelle Ryan ho is better known a one of the Slater clan from Eastenders, at first I did not recognise her as she has gone very Hollywood, losing weight and obviously hitting the gym to get buff. This version is a remake of a 70's show which I have never seen so cannot compare the two.
