Does not reach expectations (Bionic Woman, The)

Advantages: Some good episodes, nice fight scenes and great special effects

Disadvantages: Poor plots, Bionic woman is not super enough, Some unanswered questions

Bionic woman was originally a highly anticipated tv show in America, is looked like it had all of the right ingredients for a great new show. But since then it has received some shocking ratings from critics. I live in the UK so I have only just finished watching the first series, did I agree with all those critics?

The answer is probably yes. There are many things that appear to be wrong in Bionic woman. The plot is a bit shaky, there are some questions set at the start of the series that are not answered by the end. e.g. We find out that the bionic woman has had files kept on her for years, before she was ever a bionic woman, but we don't know why, and we don't appear to find out. One other thing that annoys me is I expected the bionic woman, or Jamie, to be a superhuman, easily able to dispatch enemies and have some other cool powers. I was disappointed, she only just wins many of her fights, and sometimes loses to her trainer. Also she is given superspeed, but can only run up to 30mph, quite a bit short of superman's 1000mph.

There are some good parts to the show though, not everything is bad. There are some good episodes containing cunning plots and schemes, and some humour as well. We also see some darn good fights, generally with fists, these mainly involve Jamie taking someone out who is far larger than her.

Honestly there is not much else that can be said really about this TV series. I could mention the special effects, and they are very good, all look realistic, but there wouldn't be much to say. You're just going to have to watch it yourself, as there are many controversial views that have been forecast upon it. I am going to give it 3 stars, it has some good and some bad points.

Summary: Quite a controversial one really, you will just have to watch it before you can have a good opinion
