Advantages: funny, genuis, one of the best British sitcoms of the 21st century so far

Disadvantages: now finished, the sitcom is like marmite

I first came across this sitcom on a shopping site review of the first series on DVD. I was searching for Bill Bailey at the time because I find him hilarous with his one liners, his funny looks, charisma etc, he would make the best brother in the world. I had a voucher for the shopping site and I love comedy and wanted to buy some sort of sitcom series. I had never heard of this sitcom, but because it had Bill Bailey I was tempted, however I had watched Dylan Morgan's live stand up the day before on Channel 4 and did not find him funny. I decided to buy the DVD, now I have all three series on DVD. I do not know why they finsihed this, as they seemed to have unlimited ideas.

The sitcom is about an eccentric drunken bookshop owner (Dylan Morgan) who likes his books but hates his customers. His assistant is Manny (Bill Bailey) and Fran (Tamsin Greig) the owner of next doors gift shop

Advantages:

> If you like cartoon comedy, this sitcom is for you, some of the scenes that happen in the sitcom are unrealistic in life, and can be very much like cartoons for example Bill Bailey filling a cupboard and everything falling out.
> If you like getting drunk then try and watch this.
> On DVD, and at quite low prices now online
> Can be funny for the deranged and normal alike
> A sitcom you can watch on your own.
> Dylan Morgan is funny in this (I want to know if he is drunk all the time in real life?)

Disadvantages:

> A marmite sort of comedy, you can either hate it or love it
> At bit slow to get going in the first episode of the series, if you are not a patient person you will give up on this series.
> Shame they have seemed to stopped this sitcom

To conclude, this series is one of the funniest sitcoms I have ever seen, it has very funny moments, and even when your not laughing it is still entertaining, thus the reason you can watch it on your own. Why have I never seen it on TV (channel 4)?

Summary: one of the best sitcoms, but how come I have never seen it on TV?

As collingwood21 said it was never advertised really I caught the second series by accident and loved it.

I don't think Channel 4 ever advertised this show really widely. I only caught the first series by accident (which I think was repeated once) and series 2 and 3 were kind of buried in the schedules without much fanfare. I really don't know why they didn't make more of it, because it was brilliant.
