Without a doubt 1. the catchy tune Blankety Blank, Blankety Blank 2. everyone went away with a Blankety Blank cheque book and pen. This was a silver model of a real one, and said to be more expensive than the prizes. If I get chance to see any episodes, should I? Oh yes, If you love cheesy jokes then this is for you. Blankety Blank was one of those game shows that was so bad it was good. It first appeared on our screens back in the 70's. There were three hosts over the next twenty or so years. Although it hasn't been on our screens for quite a few years now it is still thought of with affection. So, what was Blankety Blank ? A game show on the BBC. There was one host (one at a time, but three during the time it was shown, I'll talk about the hosts later) There were four contestants, 2 played in the first round and two played in the second round. There was a panel of six celebrities. Sounds like fun, how did it work ? The host asked a ... Read the complete review

Blankety Blank is a gameshow that was first aired in 1977 and was presented by Terry Wogan. However, the show became most famous under the cutting wit of presenter Les Dawson, who was in front of the camera for the show from 1983 to 1989. Dawson's 'flexible' face and cheeky Northern flirting combined with hilarious wit graced our screens. It is just a shame that the gameshow itself didn't move with the times. The idea is that two contestants compete against each other to win the game. They have to match their answers against a panel of a number of celebrities, often minor ones. The presenter reads out a sentence, leaving out a word and saying the word 'blank' ... Read the complete review

Blankety Blank is one of those pointless game shows where a couple of contestants try to win pretty average prizes, mainly because it is on the BBC. Over the years the show has had three hots, originally it was Terry Wogan who was alright, then Les Dawson took over and he was quite funny as being a comic he had a sharp tongue and a fast wit. Lately Lilly Savage has been the host and I just find that act quite tiring although the heavy sarcasm can be good. For each show there is a panel of six so called celebrities and two contestants, the host reads out a phrase which has a blank in it and the celebrities have to write down what they think the word ... Please lets never show the show on tv ever again. From when i was a kid i really hated this show and it hasnt improved with age, the hosts were never funny, the celebrity panel were scrapping the Z list, the contestants were probably feeling sorry for themselves for applying to be on the show. Even the questions, that tried to be funny, were never, the answers could never be funny, the prizes were so poor it wasnt funny. How did this show survive all these years, its not prime time tv, its not even daytime tv, please lets never ever air any of these shows again. I just cant understand how it got made in the first place and then reinvented each time but its the ... Read the complete review

from the four slice toaster to the matching luggage, blankety blank was a true peice of british genius! from its first outing hosted by terry wogan this comedy classic proved to be a popular hit with audiences across the country. despite this the lure of Eurovision was all to much for terry and he decided to swap his role of hosting for commentating, this was a (BLANK) choice for mr wogan. the shows popularity soared when les dawson took over the show a few years later adding his own comedy aspect to the show. sadly mr dawson died in 1992 and the show was laid to rest also. with her popularity increasing after appearances on ...
