Blind Date, this has to be Saturday night entertainment at its somewhat ludicrous best. As an idea for a TV show, this is so simple, yet just so good. Everybody, and I do mean everybody, who has ever seen Blind Date will probably not admit to having watched it, but you have to secretly admit that you looked forward to the moment that the jumped up individual that was choosing his/her date realised, as the blind draws back, that he/she has made the worst mistake of his/her life. Pure TV gold.

The general idea is that a man or woman comes onto the show and picks from 3 members of the opposite sex without having had the chance to see them. This is all done by asking pre-scripted questions and answers and gauging them from their voices. I wouldn't like to do it. This person this has to choose 1 and go on a short holiday with them and report back to Cilla next week. Oh the terrible holidays that have appeared on that show are far too numerous to mention but make great TV as they are quite literally stuck with each other, like it or not.

There have actually been a number of weddings as a result of the show which gave Cilla the excuse to wear one of her less than subtle hats. Cilla ofcourse being the legendary scouse singer Cilla Black.

I for one miss Blind Date and would do almost anything to bring it back (almost anything).

Summary: Bring it back, bring it back now!
