Advantages: sweet non flashly childrens programme
Disadvantages: for adults the fact that it is the same program all week
I thoroughly enjoy this program. It is on Nickelodeon and my daughter loves watching it. Blues Clues is a "cartoon" with Blue who is a dog and Kevin the owner. Kevin is the only thing that is not cartoon he is real (played by Kevin Duala) The idea of the program is that Blue every day wishes to play Blues clues. And she leaves 3 clues for Kevin to find so he can guess what it is that Blue wishes to do, read, sing etc. that day. In-between finding the different clues Kevin meets a lot of different cartoon "people" (it can be animals) and there are some regulars in the program to (like Mr Salt and Mrs Pepper and Bucket and Spade) In the end they always do what it is Blues Clues has lead them to. The program is lovely and not to quick and flashy, and the kids actually learn a little from this program. (like some times they will have "science" experiments.. Like does a apple float on water) And there is singing and dancing and stories cut into the program. Every day Kevin gets a visit from post-box who delivers a letter and when Kevin opens the letter we get a view into a more "normal" world (a bit like telle tubbies tummy programmes) There are several songs that gets sung in this program over and over again and it does get a little embarrassing singing we are looking for blues clues in the supermarket, but all in all this is a very non annoying programme and it is suitable for pre scholars without you worrying about them seeing stuff you would rather they didn't view.. One thing sad about this program is the fact that it is a Nickelodeon only program I would like to see it on CBBC or CITV so more children could become familiar with it.. The programme gets sent 1 programme once a day for 5 days then they change the episode (I think some adults will find this very annoying) This is done on the belief that (I quote) "The more Children see the more they see listen and
learn.." Try it you may find you like it as much as the kids does. (It is one of my favourite childrens programmes)

- 16/09/00 Yes, my 18 month old thinks it's great. The only gripe I have is my husband is called Kevin and thinks it's great to prance around the room when the postman arrives! (One of these days the postie is going to see him and think, "what the hell..........". |
