There is also a bear that lives in a tree house, this is also avid and is just his head poking put of a chair of sofa and his body is hidden behind this to make him look like a tiny teddy bear. Premium Review Bo Selecta: proper bo i tel thee (448 words)

The main concept of this show, for all that have not seen it is a ginger haired man called avid Merrion, played by Leigh Francis. He is a so called celebrity stalker and stalks celebrity in a funny and sometimes weird way. None of the celebrities that appear in the show however are actually real, instead they are all avid Merrion in a mask, that usually doesn't even look remotely like the celebrity its meant to be. It this second series there are a few new faces to be seen as the likes of Ricky Gervais and Christina Aguilera. don't worry though there are still the old favourites from series one including Mel B, the Osbournes, Michael Jackson and of course ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A story of love...and hate (173 words)

Bo Selecta is the first of many comedy shows that seemed to thrive on the hit and miss aspect of humour. I would watch some episodes of this show and see some of the funniest things I had seen on a show... followed closely by something truly terrible and unhumorous. Many shows with similar hit and miss formats followed, including Little Britain. The jokes were used again and again, sometimes to good effect and sometimes... well there is always a flip side to the coin. Some truly funny moments though from the cringeworth Avid and his stalker like tendencies. Great television that you sometimes have to watch through your hands because you want to but you just can't ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Bo Selecta: Stinks like BO (225 words)

Usually I quite like surreal comedy, I'm a big fan of acts like Reeves and Mortimer but for some reason I have never found Bo Selecta funny in the slightest. All of the comic, and I use the term lightly, creations in the show are from the mind of Avid Merrion, the show is a series of clips featuring his various characters, most of these are developed through large masks and prosthetics and it is certainly meant to be surreal. For example you have Scary Spice who is half woman half man and has a disgusting mouth on her, you also have a Craig David send up who has a stuffed kestral called KES flying above him on a piece of wire and you also have a Michael ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Not Funny (212 words)

There was loads of hype surrounding Bo Selecta owever I failed to see the attraction when I watched the show, I gave it a couple of tries but I'm afraid it was just not funny and many of the characters did not work although I must say the send up of Scary Spice was quite good, showing Mel as a loud mouth northern lass with a beard and a foul mouth was only really moving away from the truth in one area. The ideas behind the show and the characters are all provided by Avid Merrion, his most well known character is the really creepy stalker of celebrities who wear a supportive neck collar and loves to get up close and personal with celebrities. His ...  Read the complete review

This is a hilarious show based on Avid Merion wearing big rubber masks of celebritys. He role plays what they do and say Craig David is a favourite of his. It is absolutly funny from the start Avid is obsessed with celebrities and even in some shows gets to interview them, it is so funny he asks such embarresing questions and to see the faces on the celebs is certainly not one to miss ...  Read the complete review
