Advantages: diggers and dumpers are a guaranteed hit with small boys, good storylines, great signature tune and catch phrase.

Disadvantages: Bob is a bit wet as a character

As we live in an area of the country permanently being renovated, my son revels in the constant stream of diggers and dumpers wandering the streets. So when Bob the Builder came along the show was guaranteed to be a hit with him. With their amended catchphrase - can we fix it, no we can't! putting him and his friends into fits of giggles, they are glued to the programme from the first bars of the theme tune. There's a large enough group of characters for each story to be significantly different from the last whilst retaining the familiarity of a small enough group to know all of them.
