Advantages: A TV programme that you can actually sit down and enjoy with your children.

Disadvantages: You will sing the theme tune for the rest of the day!

Yes he can! Bob the Builder is one of my sons favourite programmes at the moment along with Thomas the tank engine and the tweenies.

I hired out two Bob the builder videos per week for him from the local Library and he sits glued to them and then when they are finished he wants them on again and again until I know all the words to every episode.

Saying this though they are brilliant, and have a very good moral to every story.

My favourite story is Bob's Birthday in which they all pretend to forget that its his birthday and send him off to work as usual and then whilst he is at work Wendy makes him a birthday cake and Dizzy makes him a concrete cake that he can keep! Then of course they all sing the theme tune to the words of "Its Bob's birthday, can we sing it...." when he returns home.

Let me describe the characters to you first of all there Bob and he is of course the main character he has several vehicles which include...

Scoop a yellow JCB type digger who happens to be the most sensible and helpful of the lot.

Muck a red dumper truck, who is scared of dark tunnels!

Dizzy a little orange cement mixer who is always flitting about everywhere.

Lofty a blue crane who is scared of everything especially heights!

Rolly a green who is a roller.

Also there is Wendy who was originally Bob's office help/secretary but now helps out with some of the jobs.

Pilchard is Bob's blue and black striped cat and is always getting himself into fixes.

The other characters are Spud the scarecrow who likes playing practical jokes on everyone and has a parsnip for a nose, which in one episode he somehow manages to lose!

Farmer Pickles who needs a lot of work done on his farm and his trusty tractor called Travis.

There is also a woman called Mavis who Bob was supposed to have been entering a line dancing competition with, but she hurt her a
nkle so he had to dance with Wendy instead and they won, hooray!!

The voice of Bob is done by Neil Morrisey from Men Behaving Badly fame and he also does others in the show too.

I would recommend this to any parents who need a breather, just put Bob the Builder on the TV and sit down and relax, go on you deserve it!

Because its so bright and colourful even babies enjoy watching it my nearly 1 year old daughter has been known to watch it as well as my son who is nearly 3.

I would suggest that you invest in some earplugs as well unless you don't mind singing the theme tune for days to come- its very catchy you'll see!

BOB is god. He beat Westlife to Christmas number one. I will always remember him for that!
