During the holidays I have been watching quite a lot of cartoons whilst babysitting my little nephew and ?Bob the Builder? is one he really likes. He was so enthralled by it that I decided to by him the video which went down really well with him.

The weird thing is that when you watch ?Bob the Builder? you can?t get the tune out of you?re head, it?s very catchy and I suppose the amount of times they say it it?s bound to stick in your head.

It is a cartoon animation and each programme starts a new story although you can?t tell by the fact that the concept is the same all the time.

The cartoon can be quite interactive they shout ?Can we fix it? and then the children shout back ?Yes we can?. Bob who is a builder always encounters a problem but for Bob no problem is to big and he soon fixes it after a little drama, mishap in between, the conclusion is always a happy one.

There are some other characters like Wendy who helps Bob out with most tasks, there?s Muck a red truck who has a fear of tunnels. Lofty who is scared of heights, he?s a crane.

There?s Rolly the roller Scoop who is extremely helpful and ?clever? compared to the rest. There?s Dizzy the mixer and Spud the scarecrow.

You can see that it?s a building orientated cartoon and can be quite handy for children to learn what goes on in a building trade but there?s also an element of disaster, and long windiness is you?re an adult watching a kids programme.

This a really good cartoon suitable for any children from the age of 1 and a half upwards. It comes on BBC on most weekdays, record it or buy the video and the children will be entertained for a long time.

If you have Sky digital you can watch Bob the Builder on Cbeebies. It comes on almost every hour. They also have a free interactive game by pressing the red button. It?s very simple and perfect for young children. It allows children to build their own truck.
