Advantages: WELL WRITTEN ENTERTAINMENT
Disadvantages: THERE'S NEVER GOING TO BE SERIES TWO !
IN THE MINORITY
This is a programme that seems to divide people either for or, more often than not, against.
I fall in the first catagory - As with any series of this nature you must suspend disbelief, but as an ENTERTAINMENT programme i enjoyed it. Starring the every watchable Adrian Lester and Julie Graham the acting was every thing you would expect. On the history side of things,i'm afraid i can not vouch for small detail but the broader side of things seemed to ring correct on a "general knowledge" level. The way each story is seperate to one another but all link in a much larger story arch is typical of the writting team that brought us the brilliant Life on Mars.
Admittedly not everybodies cup of tea but as an entertaiment programme with a difference it is well worth a watch. As for any Indiana Jones references...these episodes are far superior to that "boys own" pantomine ( no offence to panto intended !)
Summary: FAR BETTER THAN IT GETS CREDIT FOR
