Advantages: Funny and well written

Disadvantages: Denny can start to grate

I got introduced to Boston Legal pretty late, I think the 2nd season had complted on UK TV by the time I had bothered to catch an episode but it prompted me to get hold of the complete first season and work my way through it.

It's a show based in a huge Boston law firm, Crane, Pool and Schmidt, we lost Pool early in the first episode but Denny Crane (William Shatner) is there from the start and Shirley Schmidt (Candice Bergen) arrives later on in the show.

There are many core characters in the show, but one of the biggest is Alan, a brilliant, egotistical, sexiest lawyer played by James Spader. This is brought to us by the same people who made Ally Mcbeal, so you can probably predict the kind of humour we have here.

The complete lack of morals by most of the main characters is quite refreshing (and a huge dig at lawyers) but as the show progresses we do tend to find out where the line is for most of the main characters in the show.

I found in season 1 Shatners' character started off funny and then became annoying, i think they balanced this out come the 2nd season, and this makes for a much more enjoyable show.

This show is fairly easy going, funny and sometimes dramatic, the star of the show for me is Spader, playing his role perfectly.

Summary: good funny show with some loveable characters
