What would we do without Simon Cowell???
Women love him and men hate him because women love him :D
But seriously, i'm not at all tempted by television in general. Without the man, TV entertainment would have died long ago.

'Britains got talent' is an 'x-factor'esque type of show.
Members of the public are invited to show off their talent at an audition in front of the panel of judges (Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Piers Morgan) and a live audience.
The winner of the show gets to perform at the royal variety show in front of the queen.
Any person of any age, with any talent, can audition.
Each of the judges have a buzzer which they press when they are not impressed or entertained by the act on stage. Once all three buzzers are sounded, the act is stopped and they are given feedback from the judges.
The auditions range from bonkers people, dangerous people, boring people, to funny or extremely talented people.

The semi-finals usually have a good range of different acts. I have to say the judges do put a lot of junk through, amongst them are a few diamonds. However i am sure their reasons for choosing certain not-so-talented acts are justified. No publicity is bad publicity after all!
The show always causes debate in the press, and in the public - about favourite acts, judge decisions, and outing liars, unfounded sob-stories etc.

I personally really enjoy the show. Its a great bit of light entertainment, nothing to be taken too seriously, just something to give you a giggle of an evening.
