Advantages: Family show, finds talent in the UK
Disadvantages: None
Britain's Got Talent is a great show because its aim is to go to different locations throughout the UK and find different types of talent.
The show travels to a wide range of locations such as Birmingham, Manchester, and London in order to find talent and many acts tend to be good but many acts also tend to be bad.
The first episode of the show and around the next 5 episodes of the show start by showing the best and worst auditions that have taken place throughout all of these locations. I think these are the best episodes of the show because if someone is terrible at their supposed talent then the auditions are usually quite funny. Also this is the first time in the show that you see all of the good talent so it is good to see how well they performed on their first audition. Once an act has finished performing the judges will give them feedback on how well their performance went. However, if an act is poor then all 3 judges have the option to buzz that act; meaning that they will not be able to complete their performance if all 3 judges buzz. In the final section of these first 6 episodes the judges pick the top acts that they want to send to the semi final.
The semi final is spread over 5 nights and there are around 10 acts that perform each night. The judges still have the option to buzz if they wish but this is usually rare in the semi final because the acts are supposed to be good. Only 2 acts can go through to the final each night and the first act is sent straight through based on the public vote. The second act is chosen based on the acts that came second and third in the public vote because the judges then have to choose between the two acts.
The final involves 10 acts and involves a similar format to the semi finals because each act must perform and then the result is based on the public vote. The top 3 acts in the public vote are chosen and then the winner is chosen out of these 3 acts but sill based on the public votes; the judges do not have a say in the voting on in the final.
Overall I think Britain's Got talent is a great show that does find some quality talent out there in the UK. It shows how proud our country should be based on the fact that we have all of this talent. The show is a family show and there are not as many family shows around now so it is great for a laugh.
Summary: A great show that finds great talent across the country
