Advantages: Some really funny and different acts
Disadvantages: None of the crazier acts have won yet
Britain's Got Talent aims to find one act from the whole country to perform at the Royal Variety Performance infront of the Queen.
Unlike many other talets shows around at the minute, this one is open to all acts and all ages. Although the normal kind of acts like singers and dancers try out, there has also been acts like belly dancing, comedians and jugglers. Probably 80% of the contestants have no talent at all and end up making fools out of themselves rather than impressing the judges.
Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan are the 3 judges with Kelly Brooke making an appearance this year. Simon is pretty mean as a judge but thats what we all seem to love him for. At least he's honest though and doesnt get anyone's hopes up. Amander has a soft spot for the cute kids while Piers seems to like the comedians the most. The 3 judges make the choice of who will make it to the final but after that it's down the the audiences votes.
Ant and Dec are the presenters of the program from the audition process right up to the finals. During the auditions they stand backstage and talk to the contestants before they go on stage.
Unfortunatly none of the crazier acts have won in the past. 2009 saw 'Diversity', a street dance group take the title, 2008 was George Sampson, a street dancer and 2007 was Paul Potts, a classical singer. At least this year we saw some more interesting acts get through to the finals and how well they did. I really loved Stravos Flately this year but i still routed for either Diversity or Flawless to win. I cant wait to see the Royal Variety Performance this year.
Summary: Fantastic show!!

- 02/07/09 Talent is what they were looking for and found in abundance. A nice mix, singers and all. |
|
- 02/07/09 It should be made clear that some of the acts have had professional careers - the saxophonist Julian for example aka Joolz Gianni |

- 02/07/09 Ive said that all along, singers have their own show. Maybe we should get something like So you think you can dance to rule the dancers out too (even though i love them!) |
