Advantages: Great show full of laughs and quality entertainment
Disadvantages: Slightly rushed with all live finals shown in one week
Britain's Got Talent is one of the UKs largest talent reality TV shows, searching for anyone of any talent with an amazing grand prize.
The show starts out with the three judges (Simon Cowell, Piers Morgen and Amanda Holden) touring up and down the country to find the best acts. The auditions are held in front of live audiences (I've been lucky enough to go twice!) with acts being booed or cheered. The judges can let the acts they like play or if they dislike them, hit their "X" buzzer. If you get all three, you're off!
The auditions are another great source of entertainment, just like the X Factor auditions, watching deluded people who believe they have talent make fools of themselves has never been so fun.
After this the acts all come back in a sort of "Boot Camp" stage where they perform again (without the bad acts, this is no way near as entertaining) and then the judges must choose who they want to go through to the live finals! The live finals are then shown everyday the following week (slight overkill) giving the public the chance to vote for which acts they would like to see in the live grand finals. The judges also play a role here as they can still "X" an act off. They also vote for one act to go through out of the two runner ups.
Once all the acts have been whittled down they perform one last time to the nation, the public vote, and then a winner is crowned! The winner wins the grand prize of £100,000 and the chance to perform at the Royal Albert hall which is great, most of the best (and worst) acts are also invited on the BGT Tour so you can go an see them live.
Overall Britain's Got Talent is a great show, full of laughs (and cringe worthy moments) you'll definitely get addicted to the show. I highly recommend tuning in to the 2010 series.
Summary: A great show that is definitely worth watching, fun for the whole family!

- 06/10/09 Yeah they are quite similar, it's just that X Factor is 16+ and for singers whereas BGT is for any ages and any type of act |

- 06/10/09 Nice review. Never seen it myself - and can't really see how it's much different to X Factor really. :) |
