This Liverpudlian soap has been underrated for such a long time, all the other soaps are constantly mentioned, but this one only seems to when they cover a controversial issue.

It's been running for years and it took me a long while to start watching it properly, I couldn't get to grips with the characters. Now it's very amusing to watch.

It covers every possible issue that you can imagine, murder and bodies under the patio, lesbian relationships, brawling women, nymphomaniacs the list is endless. If it were an american show we would probably think it was a load of old tatt.

Bev and Lance (who is gay) have decided to have a baby together. The actors play the parts brillantly, and stretch from emotive to hilarious. He is finding it difficult to kiss a woman, and the expressions on his face are comical.

The lesbian conflict between Lindsey, Jackie and Shelley had become so monotonous I was glad when she left. It was milked for all it was worth, and didn't we know it.

Mike Dixon has been seriously injured in a car accident and his so called mates who were in the car ran off and left him there. Why hasn't he told anyone who was in the car with him???? Is this another attempt at stringing out the story?

Although topics that anyone of us would experience in our own lives are convered, we would at least go out in a car, venture out of the vicinity, drink or eat in a different bar or restaurant at least one in a while.

It's a great tv soap, but I wish they would widen the locations, it gets so boring viewing Bev's bar, the salon or another lounge. I'm starting to notice when the wallpaper needs changing.

You either love it or hate it.

I love this soap, I've watched it from the days of Sheila and Bobby Grant who now play husband and wife in The Royle family!!

Excellent opinion, very well written. Brookside is an excellent soap. It a real life situation soap. It gets criticism for dealing with 'touchy' storylines at times but I feel that this is necessary as it sheds light on these topics for the younger viewers to understand these issues better and older viewers to catch up with what is really going on in the 21st Century and to get them out of the olden days when everything was good. It's a very gripping and dramatic soap, I haven't watched it for a while, but used to love it!
