Advantages: Good television

Disadvantages: None

I've watched CSI since it started, over the seasons the plots, acting and effects have got better. CSI is Crime Scene Investigation based in Las Vegas, it is about a team of Forensic Investigators who have to find and process clues to solve the crimes. Jerry Bruckheimer is the man behind CSI. The title music is 'Who Are You' by The Who.

If you've never watched it then at least give it a try, hopefully this review will help fill you in on the characters etc.

**Gil Grissom**

Grissom is played by William Peterson and he is the Supervisor of the team. Grissom is single, in his forties and very private. He likes to ride on the biggest and fastest Rollercoasters because it 'helps him think' and it is another way to get a thrill other than sex....he doesn't seem to get any sex but he showed an interest in a Dominatrix in one episode but that was just inferred. He has mentioned his Mother, who is deaf, but that was just to establish he had the same disease that made her deaf, which has since been cured in him.

He is a very respected Entemologist and just loves it when bugs are involved in some way, he also has the respect of his colleagues.

**Catherine Willows**

Catherine is played by Marg Helgenberger and she is also a Supervisor. Catherine is a single Mum to Lyndsey and she has worked very hard to get where she is now. Before qualifying for CSI she worked as a stripper and saved up enough money to go to college, she is tough on the outside but certain things upset her and she isn't afraid to show emotion, she will fight her way to the top and won't let anyone stop her.

**Sarah Sidle**

Sarah is played by Jorja Fox, she is the studious one of the team and she doesn't like to be wrong, although she has had boyfriends she seems to be happiest at work and has been known to go in on her day off.

Sarah has deep feelings for Grissom and has told him so but he declined the offer of a date, when she is working with him she can't always concentrate until she kicks herself and gets on with it.

**Nick Stokes**

Nick is played by George Eads, he is the 'All American Boy' with square jaw and a six pack, I suppose he would be classed as the hunk of the group, there isn't a lot to say about him really although it seems to have been a struggle for him to qualify as a CSI.

**Warrick Brown**

Warrick is played by Gary Dourdan as far as I'm concerned he is the one I wouldn't throw out of bed. Warrick grew up in a rough part of Vegas and had to work extra hard to become a CSI, when the series first started he almost blew his entire career because of his gambling habit, he now has that under control.

He has quite a fancy for Catherine but he is married and as yet won't do anything about it, I think Catherine would be more than willing.

**Greg Sanders**

Greg is played by Eric Szmanda he is the baby of the team and has joined the team from the DNA lab where he was the top guy and could get DNA from almost everything.

The programme revolves around the Las Vegas Crime Scene Investigation unit, the team solve crimes using thier skill and expertise and relying on other experts in the department.

CSI is very graphic in the way that decomposition, bodily fluids and even cadavas being cut open for the autopsy are just part of the programme, these scenes are not there for the sake of it they are there as part of the story, so if you are squeamish in any way CSI may not be for you. When something needs to be explained, ie: how a bullet became lodged in a part of the body, then it will be shown as if inside the body.

CSI can uncover a lot of emotions from laughter to sadness or even feeling quite nauseous, not because you think the people are real but because you know these awful things do happen and someone has to clean up the mess.

Despite all this, I do enjoy the programme and always look forward to the next one. If you are of a sound disposition just give it a try.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is screened at 9pm Tuesdays or Saturdays anytime after 9pm, depending whether it's a new series or a repeat, Channel 5.

For some reason, I have just never liked any of the CSI series. Well made, but there is something inherently annoying in them.
