Cash in the Attic is one of those strange shows that popped up in the wake of the 'groundbreaking' Bargain Hunt, which seemed to show that daytime telly audiences seem to have an insatiable appetite for auction shows.
The premise is simple, Doris and Betty want to go on a holiday to Brighton but want a bit of spending money to go to the bingo halls with. Cue our telly crew to crawl round the house finding anything of value worth flogging.
A target is set and then as soon as they have enough items of value they bring them down to the auction house and see if they get enough or if they just fall short.....will Doris and Betty have enough to go with or will it be a free cups of tea looking out the window of their brighton guesthome?
That in a nutshell is an average episode of the programme, the title itself is misleading as they don't climb around the attic at all.
The show itself can kill a half hour if you really don't have anything else to do but it really is designed more as background noise rather than anything else.

Summary: So tense......you might fall asleep.
