Advantages: Good storyline

Disadvantages: A bit gory sometimes

My wife loves this show and occassionally I am dragged along to watch it with her!
The show follows the drama that happens on an accident and emergency ward in Holby City hospital. The show airs every saturday night and lasts for around 45 minutes. It has been running for more than 10 years and so is very established.
Casualty is not the kind of show you watch if you want to see an accurate picture of what happens in an accident and emergency ward. There are laughs, tears, deaths, threats, unwanted pregnancies, affairs and much much more. The hospital staff seem to have something to do with every patient they come across on the ward and regularly get involved more than they should.

Basically if you enjoy drama and snooping around in peoples lives that are more interesting than the average persons lives then you will probably enjoy casualty. Many times the show is not for the squeemish as they will often show the fine details of the operations that take place.

I would say that this is definitely a programme to try at least once. You will soon find out if its your kind of thing!

Summary: Try it

I've never understood why hospital drama is so popular - it's inherently depressing!
