Casualty is a long-running medical drama series that is currently based in Bristol (UK). The programme has been running since 1986 and is the second longest running medical drama series in the world. The programme is based around characters that play the role of doctors and nurses in a fictional accident and emergency department.

The show is aired on Saturday's on BBC1. The time it is aired varies but it is usually around 8pm or 9pm. If you miss it on a Saturday you can catch it again on catch up on demand if you have digital TV though on Virgin Media or on the BBC website if you have the internet. Personally I make sure I never miss an episode by watching it on the internet when I get home from work or on catch up on demand if I have any spare time in a morning. Older episodes can also be viewed on weekday mornings on Watch.

I have been watching the show since 2004 and in that time there has been a lot of cast changes. The character that has been in it longest is Charlie (Derek Thompson) he has acted in the series since episode 1 of the 1st year in 1986 and is still to this day one of the main roles in the programme. The plotline I found most interesting was when the husband of a patient attacked doctor Lara Stone (Christine Stephen-Daly) because she helped reveal the truth about him abusing his wife, the doctor protected herself by hitting him with a stone but ended up killing him and going to prison. I find it a shame that there are no box sets of this programme as I really enjoyed the 2004 episodes and would love to watch them again.

Summary: The best medical drama show i have ever seen
