Disadvantages: That new man, the screen, the whole thing
Well actually it's neither good or right. I must express my utter disappointment in the new catchprase. I am totally disheartened when I turn on my television and have to ask myself: what happened to the delightful Roy Walker with his own special catchphrases? "Oooh, say what you see", being amongst other classics. For those of you poor people who have yet to see the re-runs of the original Catchphrase on Challenge TV, here is a basic outline of the rules: two contestants poised at their buzzers, watch a screen with an animated catchphrase on it, the point being to work out which catchphrase the picture is showing. The first person to guess it right gets an amount of money in their 'bank'. When one gets it right they get the chance to remove a piece of puzzle covering another catchphrase which has a bonus prize attached to it if they get it right. A wonderful show, with a wonderful concept. The game has declined in recent years. The wonderful set discarded for the newer model, like an ageing wife swapped for the bounteous younger woman. The video screen replaced with better graphics, which in my opinion, ruin the whole show. And the so-called catchphrases? Names of songs, etc. are not catchprases. I used to enjoy playing along at home, but how anyone can guess the phrases now is a complete wonder to me. And what is the point in the obscure shapes on the screen? It's ridiculous. And that man... he does not compare to Roy. I can't even remember his name, which just proves how unworthy he is of being on that wonderful show. Let's get the old show back; now that was quality programming. Follow me comrades! This is the start of a revolution!!
