Disadvantages: not appealing anymore

This show brings a lot of memories back for me, I can remember when it used to come on about eight or nine years ago, with Roy Walker. It was such a god quiz to watch, it was good old family entertainment. We used to watch it together, and it was really good fun.

However, I saw it last Saturday for the first time in years, so I decided to give it a go. There was no Roy Walker, instead someone I had not heard of called Nick Weir, the show looked different, obviously it had changed with times. But, the appeal was no longer there. The contestants were all kiddie, which was a bit annoying.

The concept was the same, on a screen animated cartoons appear, doing something which is a well known Catchphrase.
After every Catchphrase there’s a bigger Catchphrase, which is worth a lot more money. Everytime, the contestant who answered the previous question correctly, gets to reveal a missing piece in order to help her identify the Catchphrase.

The cash prizes are good and depend on how much question you get right, but the one who gets the highest amount goes through to play for a dream holiday. And having seen what they have to offer it is a dream……..but very few people have won it. The winning contestant plays against the clock and within a minute has to identify
horizontally, or vertically a line across the five by five grid. The Catchphrase are quite hard and some are really tricky, and people just get stuck.

A good show but not the same without Roy Walker, just like Blockbusters isn’t the same without Bob. Nick is good but once you identify a game show with a presenter it’s difficult to associate anyone else.
It’s still good and worth watching if nothing else is one. Nick is very helpful to the contestants, and tries to stamp his own style on the show, which is good in a way.

I used to love this show and it was probably Roy Walker that made it so entertaining. I met him once at an airport - he was very nice and quite tall, not that anyone would be interested in that! ;-)

'Say what you see - If you see it say it!'

A classic of its time, but definitely past its sell-by date now.

Ho ho, he fell down the stairs. Sorry, but it was funny.
