Advantages: The charts are mostly accurate predictors for the official CIN chart.

Disadvantages: Filled with boy bands and girl groups whose efforts are usually very poor.

The follow-up show to SM:TV, this incorporates much of it’s format from the now defunct ‘The Chart Show’. Filled with acts that have either dominated the previous week’s chart or will occupy some space in the next day’s chart (this is broadcast on a Saturday), you will either enjoy or detest what they will have to offer. Most if not all the groups/artists that feature on the show are either focused on the teenage market or for young adults. You will not see Oasis for example on this but the myriad of
Britneys/Robbies/Steps/Westlifes (heck, even Bon Jovi appears!) that appear on the show dominate the
proceedings. .However, they are ‘live’ in the studio as opposed to just showing their music videos.

Presented by all the ‘skill’ required of them usually by Ant and Dec (as they’ve synonymously are now known) and Cat Deeley, this is alright but by no means the nadir of music presentation but considering the target audience isn’t all that bad. However the performers all seem to perform on the same tiny claustrophobic stage, which aims to provide some sort of ‘closure’ between the viewers and the performers. Which ultimately ends up feeling kind of‘cheap’. Better than FBi though.
