Celebrity Big Brother

Newest Review: ... better. Unfortunately just like the main show the tasks are the peak of the show with episodes in between not as entertaining. That said when housemates argue against each other it is more entertaining than when they are random strangers. Thankfully CBB lasts a fraction of the main show at around 3-4 weeks, meaning it stays entertaining for the period that it's on and doesn't drag on, hogging our TV screens. Overall Celebrity Big Brother is a slight improvement on the original show at times but still suffers from the same problem of sporadic entertainment and controversial/bad housemates.... more

Premium Review Celebrity Big Brother: EX-celebrity Big Brother. (237 words)

Celebrity Big Brother is an addition to the main Big Brother shows, shown in January, humiliating EX-celebrities. Celebrity Big Brother shares the same basic principles as the original show with tasks, nominations and evictions but still seems to feel watered-down (especially since the Race-related issues in 2007). It really shouldn't be called celebrity Big Brother as most of the housemates are way past their peak and often out of the business. It seems to be used as more of an opportunity for them to re-kindle their career rather than produce some real entertainment. That said, having been in the spotlight it does add to the enjoyment of watching ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Big Brother: TV For Voyeurs (367 words)

Big Brother began in 2000 and the housemates for the season have changed with each series. It started off with ordinary people being pushed together and asked to perform certain tasks. There were evictions and challenges to get through until the winner was decided, and then it developed into a celebrity version. This has to be one the worst, 'no-brain' cheap shows ever made for television. The whole idea is to get a number of celebrities, make them live in a house together and humiliate them. The camera just records what happens. This is just titillating rubbish for those with voyeuristic tendencies. For a start, the whole idea of the show is a non ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Celebrity Big Brother: Celebs get to make fools of themselves and make some money f ... (646 words)

Celeb big brother started off as a one to raise money for charity in 2001 but is now a long running tie in to big brother. Celebs are put into the house for 3 weeks and are paid for their time so long as they do not leave on their own accord. Contestants compete to win a cash prize to give to a charity of their choice at the end of the show. The celebs that enter the house arent A listers at all and have normally been out of the lime light for some time. The show caused quite a stir in 2006 when a non celebrity, Chantelle Houghton, was put into the house who actually won. As it is well known that a lot of Z list celebs go into the house, no one really ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review (Z List) celebrity big brother (336 words)

The concept of Big Brother is something that grabbed my attention for one or two series, but then promptly lost it. I just didn't find it interesting seeing random people living in a house. Then came CBB, which promised something more intriguing - celebrities doing the same thing. This grabbed my attention, and became something I really wanted to see, so I settled down in anticipation. Of course, I was somewhat bemused by one thing- the celebrities. When it says celebrities, what it really means is 'Z List celebrities'. Yes, we all know who they are - people who used to be famous and want to be once more, so will put themselves through any amount of shame to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Celebrity Big Brother: Its Big Brother but not as we know it (332 words)

Celebrity Big Brother, in theory, combines two of my favourite hobbies and likes. These are reality TV, particularly Big Brother, and watching celebrities. So, with this in mind, Celebrity Big Brother should be my perfect TV show, but for so many reasons it is not. Firstly let me say, I like the idea of watching celebrities expose themselves for who, or what, they really are for our viewing pleasure, but with the possible exception of 1 or 2 contestants, I don't class these as celebrities. they are reletively unknown people in the grand scheme of the celebrity world and therefore generate very little interest in my household. To make a show of this ...  Read the complete review
