Advantages: occasionally entertaining

Disadvantages: not famous enough

The concept of Big Brother is something that grabbed my attention for one or two series, but then promptly lost it. I just didn't find it interesting seeing random people living in a house. Then came CBB, which promised something more intriguing - celebrities doing the same thing. This grabbed my attention, and became something I really wanted to see, so I settled down in anticipation.

Of course, I was somewhat bemused by one thing- the celebrities. When it says celebrities, what it really means is 'Z List celebrities'. Yes, we all know who they are - people who used to be famous and want to be once more, so will put themselves through any amount of shame to get some exposure again.

The other annoying thing is that all these celebs know how to act in front of the camera, so we never see the real them - it's all their public face, which is not what we want.

Now it's not all bad. The season where Jack Dee was on it was so funny, and therein lies the one strength of the show. Dee is a comedian, and he used the show to be funny. When he jumped over the wall and hid for an hour, he returned to the house and told housemates he had been walking down a street, bumped into drunks, and been spurred on to return; it was so funny, and that was a really fun event in an otherwise dull event.

The celebs have to do tasks too, just like the normal contestants, but again these become so dull.

All in all, this show is just like the original in that it is (mostly) full of very un-special people doing normal and occasionally silly things. To make it really work they should get some real celebs - imagine Barak Obama, Ricky Gervais, Michael McIntyre, Robert De Niro and David Beckham all locked up in a house. When it gets to that, I'm watching!

Summary: nah
