Advantages: We get to see the real side of celebs

Disadvantages: Some of the celebs are really annoying

Celeb big brother started off as a one to raise money for charity in 2001 but is now a long running tie in to big brother. Celebs are put into the house for 3 weeks and are paid for their time so long as they do not leave on their own accord. Contestants compete to win a cash prize to give to a charity of their choice at the end of the show.

The celebs that enter the house arent A listers at all and have normally been out of the lime light for some time. The show caused quite a stir in 2006 when a non celebrity, Chantelle Houghton, was put into the house who actually won. As it is well known that a lot of Z list celebs go into the house, no one really questionned the story big brother told her to make up. They all thought she was just some upcoming singer in a girlband, even though she proved she wasnt any good. Chantelle eventually married fellow housemate Preston but it didnt last very long.

The 2007 edition of celebrity big brother caused a lot of reactions from the public due to the accusations of bullying and racism towards Shilpa Shetty. Shilpa won the vote with 63%. I think if she hadnt won things would have been even worse than they were. Jade Goody appeared on the Indian version of the show in order to show she was sorry for what happened and that she wasnt racist but her time in the house was cut short when she found out she had cancer.

Although many people dont like the celebrity version as much, i love it. Its so funny to see celebs making fools out of themselves during the tasks. The dance tasks have been some of the best ive seen. Watching Verne Troyer and Coolio dancing in thong leotards and leggings was hilarious.

Although some of the celebs that go into the house are quite unknown to me, i love seeing what they're really like. We only ever get to see how the media shows them and what theyre like on tv etc and some of the pepople i thought i would hate, i ended up really liking.

Im really glad the non celebrity edition was a one off because i think it would have been way too obvious if they repeated it. The celebs in the house would have questionned anyone they hadnt heard of before.

I like Big Brother because of how it can change someone's life and i like the celeb version for the same reasons. Its nice to see such a popular tv show and celebs are willing to do something for charity.
