Celebrity Survivor, other wise known as "I'm a celebrity get me out of here". The show consists of 8 C-List celebs, who have to survive in the jungle in the name of charity, after the first week the first celeb will be voted off then each-day after that another celeb is eliminated until there is only one left. One of the contestants is picked each-day by the public to perform a task. The show is on for two weeks and is an hour long each day, but taking into the account of adverts and the amount of padding out by Ant & Dec it should only be on for 15 minutes. I think this is the worst presented show on TV, it’s so second hand. The set’s always moving, the camera never focused and frankly it makes me dizzy! I like Andy Peters and Penny Smith but they seem to have developed into the worst presenters going, totally unprofessional, giggling at silly times and getting their lines wrong. It’s so obvious that they haven’t spent much money putting this programme together, which is a pity because the idea is good and I think if the show was better organised it would make viewing that little bit better. They have finally got round to replacing ‘Home and Away’ with ‘Celebrity, it’s a show-biz kind of show with the latest gossip from pop stars to Hollywood actors to the soaps in Britain. So, it probably attracts the same audience as the Aussie soap with a few older people watching it as well. I would much rather prefer ‘Home and Away’ back but I suppose ‘Celebrity’ is a better replacement than ‘You’ve Been Framed’. Celerbrity is TV pap, no real content, no style, no thought into the programme and no great investigative scoops. No wander it is so popular and so at home in todays crassly populist Britain. The show (1:30 and 5:05)panders to the 10 minute culture, those whose attention span wanders so things need to keep changing. The show appears to achieve the seemingly unbelievable feet of continually advertising itself for the full half-hour. I challange anyone who actually watches this to count how many times whats on the show, later in the show, after the adverts, at the end or in the next edition or even later this week gets mentioned. If I was to use one word to describe Celebrity it would be ‘tacky’. Celebrity is ITV’s new show that takes the place of Home and Away, shown at 1:30p.m and 5:00p.m each weekday. Now, for me, this show is incredibly tacky and looks rushed, almost as if it’s been plucked from some remote cable channel or something, however I find myself strangely drawn to it.
