Charitable Challenges (Challenge Anneka)
Member Name: mrdave2606
Advantages: Great charity work, helped to raise awareness of various causes Disadvantages: Not on TV anymore
Challenge Anneka was a programme screened in the late 1980 and early 1990s, featuring Anneka Rice. Each week, she was given a challenge to complete. The challenges were always for charitable causes. Some challenges include renovating a homeless hostel, organising a skiing trip for the disabled, renovating the playground at Birmingham Children's Hospital and creating a new Mencap Nursery. To complete the challenges, Anneka had to ask for other organisations help. This included obtaining building materials, toys, food and other expertise. A huge Challenge Anneka lorry would travel across the country, and Anneka also had a buggy that she sometimes drove in. Summary: Was great viewing. Sad it's not around anymore. |
