Advantages: Great characters

Disadvantages: Charlie is too understanding for a big bro!

Charlie and lola is a children's cartoon about a brother, Charlie and his little sister Lola. They do the normal everyday things that a brother and sister get up but Charlie is the responsible big brother who helps Lola to understand things a little clearer.

The interesting thing about the whole programme is the dialect that Lola uses. She is young and her placement of words is very odd and typical of a child of her age in real life. She tries to use big adult words but drops them into a sentence anywhere and rather than think that she's got that bit wrong, I always find myself thinking how cute it sounds.

Charlie and Lola has to be one of my favourite children's programmes and I am always happy to sit and watch it with Noah. I love the way that Charlie and Lola are illustrated and the drawings combine that typical sketchy cartoon pictures with real life photos.

The other characters that feature in the programme are really good especially Lola's imaginary friend Soren Lorenson who unsurprisingly wants Lola to get up to mischief.

The watcher never actually sees Charlie and Lola's parents but they are mentioned a lot. I quite like this idea because it leaves me wondering what they might look like.

The only thing I don't like about the programme is the unrealistic way that Charlie very rarely gets upset about anything that Lola does to him or his things. In stead of going nuts and having a full blown fight which we all know is what would happen in reality, he may have a little moan but then he sets out explaining why she shouldn't have done what she did.

If you fancy a watch then you will find it on the BBC and if you like it then there is a whole series of books you can find which are also brilliant!

Summary: Excellent!

I watched this once and it was awful. The animation is very crass. Great review anyway.
