Advantages: Great fun for the kids, short but sweet, easy viewing.

Disadvantages: If only it was 5 or 10 minutes longer!

Charlie and Lola is a children's show which is currently shown on CBeebies and each episode runs for around 11 minutes. At present there have been around 70 episodes and these are all regularly repeated at various times throughout the day and evening.

Charlie and Lola are brother and sister, Charlie is 7, Lola is 4, and they both have blonde hair and black eyes. The show centres around Charlie, Lola and their friends (both real and imaginary) and throughout the episodes you never see any adults. The voices sound like actual children which makes a refreshing change.

Charlie is not a stereotypical big brother really as he doesn't squabble with Lola and he tries to look after her and teach her right from wrong. Charlie is a nice big brother and when I was younger I would no doubt have loved one like him!

Lola is the original annoying little sister, with lots of cute little phrases thrown in! She wears lots of crazy outfits, sometimes very retro, and her character is always dressed nice. She has an imaginary friend called Soren who she is sometimes seen to be talking to.

There is lots of merchandise available such as Charlie & Lola toys, DVDs, Albums etc so there is plenty for my nieces and nephews to bug me to get them!

The episode is just the perfect amount of time to sit the little ones down in front of the television and leave them for the 10 or 11 minutes while you get a spot of housework done, start dinner or run them a bath. It really is amazing what us aunties can get done in just 10 short minutes, I consider it a mini workout!

I am going to rate this show 5/5 as it's nice and friendly, fun for children and the characters are nice, if a little unrealistic at times. Also, I like the way that Lola speaks just like my niece did back when she was 4! I must admit I actually like watching this just a little bit (but don't tell anyone!).

Summary: A fantastic mini episode for kids to watch while Auntie tidies up!
