Advantages: Excellent storylines which teach children lots

Disadvantages: Not on enough!!

My daughter (1 year old) has just taken to watching Charlie and Lola, she is a very cheeky little one and seems she has already grown out of In the night Garden and CHuggington. She is however totally in love with Charlie and Lola. She hears the music and comes running in (not literally) and stands up next to the television, glued for the next 20 minutes.

I cannot say I blame her however as out of the kids programmes I have been introduced to in the last 13 months Charlie and Lola is definitely my favourite and I myself have been in fits of laughter at it before now.
Charlie and Lola is based on the books written by Lauren Childs about a brother and sister who face the trials and tribulations of a young persons life. Unfortunately not everything always runs smoothly for these two but sees together they can face anything.

The programme is broadcast daily on bbc's cbeebies channel (freeview 71) and we always look forward to it.

Charlie who is he older brother tries always to help his little sister out. I love the relationship that the two of them have, this is exactly how I would want my children to be. He is the model older brother who never ever gets annoyed with Lola, even though she does many things that could tip him off the edge. He tries his hardest to teach her right from wrong. I love this element of the programme because I think there is so much potential for your little one to learn things from this programme which is exactly what a child's programme should be like. I think it is important for a child's programme to teach children life lessons and this programme is a perfect example of this!!

Although the programme is in cartoon form it there are some 'real life' things in it and this is a really good technique because it makes the programme really individual! It is colourful and attractive and draws any child in, as does the music which is very catchy.

There are many series of Charlie and Lola and they are available to buy on Dvd along with a lot of merchandise, you can get anything from plates and bowls to socks. You can pick these things up including the dvds for very reasonable prices.

I really think that even you as an adult will love Charlie and Lola, it is very comical and funny and your child will love every aspect of it. Enjoy!!
