I don't watch much TV, but I always manage to make time for Charmed!

Series Four is being aired on Uk Living every Saturday night at 9pm, with repeats on Mondays at 9pm.

IT ALL STARTED WHEN...
The show focuses on three sisters (The Halliwells) who find that they are witches like their mother before them and her mother before her and so on...! Their powers were bestowed upon then a few months after their grandmother dies. They jointly inherit her house, but to start only the two eldest sisters live there - Prue (Shannen Docherty) and Piper (Holly Marie Combs). Phoebe (Alyssa Milano)who is the youngest sister moves back from New York when she is broke. To try and break the tension Phoebe starts to play with their old Ouija Board as she does so a spirit guide spells out ATTIC. Against her sisters wishes she goes to the attic and finds The Book of Shadows which is a book that has been passed down through generations of witches in their family. Phoebe then reads an incantation which gives them their witchy powers. These powers are used to save innocents (everydays people)
from the Demon world.

THE POWERS...
The powers that the sisters inherit are as individual as they are.
Prue is able to use telekensis - she can move things with her mind. She also learns to Astral Project - which means that she can effectively be in two places at once!
Piper has the ability to freeze time. As her powers get stronger she is also able to blow things up.
Phoebe is the only sister who has a passive power - she has visions of the future (of the inncocents they have to save). She makes up for the passive power by being able to kick ass!

OTHER CHARACTERS...
Leo is the sisters Whitelighter - he is their connection to the Powers That Be. He can orb (transport himself by magic) to wherever he is needed. He also has the ability to heal. As of series 3 he is also Piper's husband!
Cole/Balthazar was introduced i
n series 3 as a half demon (Balthazar) - he is now one of the good guys and is Phoebe's boyfriend.

NEW IN SERIES FOUR....
As Prue met her maker in the last episode of series 3, we have been introduced to half-sister Paige (Rose McGowan)who turns out to the the offspring of Piper and Phoebe's mother and her whitelighter. Paige has Prue's power of telekenesis but as she is half whitelighter she can also orb (only when she's scared at the moment!)

WHY TO WATCH....
I would recommend this show to anyone who likes fantasy. It's not particulary suitable for young children as it does touch on some issues that are too grown up for them - also the demons do get a tad scary sometimes! It's full of humour and seriousness at the same time as you watch the sisters struggles trying to lead normal lives as well as save the world on a regualar basis!

Summary:
