Chicago HopeNewest Review: ... in fact they should have waited until a season of ER had ended and then put Chicago Hope into the same Thursday night slot, so everyone used to watching medical drama would stay tuned, then when the season of Chicago Hope ended, it would have been time for ER to start again. But alas no more. I will leave you with one thing though. In the later episodes the sign off for "David E Kelley Productions" changed. What had started off as just a nice red colour background with David E Kelley in nice typeface suddenly became an old lady sitting off a rocking chair who after turning off her TV is knocked over by the words "David ... more |

Well it now looks as though there is going to be no more seasons of Chicago Hope screened on UK television. Chicago Hope started the same year as that other great hospital drama set in the same city, ER. ER had the action and the thumping tense music. Chicago Hope had the comedy and proper thought provoking drama. Both of the deserved to succeed. They both did in the US, but over here they were not to be treated as equals. Sky One used to show it on a different day at the same time as they were showing ER, when in fact they should have waited until a season of ER had ended and then put Chicago Hope into the same Thursday night slot, so ... The last series (like previous ones), was shown in double helpings around midnight on BBC - in fact, they seemed so keen to get it out of the way that the last 8 episodes were shown over 2 weeks. We are now told that the BBC has no plans to buy in subsequent series (I think there are two more). Chicago Hope is set in a hospital in Chicago, America. They have problems just like ER yet there is a lot more going on with the programme. With doctors Working in a teaching environment they are always researching and performing first operations. They are Pioneers. With handsome staff and episodes of thought provoking storylines I think I prefer this to ER! Doctors include a nerologist who had a brain hematoma and can not operate now so he becomes a shrink called Aaron. There was also a brilliant ... Read the complete review

Chicago Hope is a drama held in a teaching hospital, in of course, Chicago. This was an excellent drama; which you really got involved, in the characters lives. It isn’t all about medical problems, and doesn’t totally take place in the hospital; there is, a lot of scene that were not in the hospital. The program covers the main problems all hospitals come across, finance, being sued and of the staffing problems. The story lines were always interesting, and I always looked forward to the next one. Why have sky one abandon it? Am I the only person who liked it? ... Read the complete review
