You can donate a fiver to BBC Children in Need by texting DONATE to 70077 http://www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey/donate/ 'Children in Need' is just as dreadful as it is wonderful. The wonderful bit is the money they raise; an incredible 38 million last time, the dreadful bit is the Friday night show, like having all of your teeth pulled ... Read the complete review

Children in Need is a very worthy charity doling out grants to projects through out the country for the help and assistance on young people in all situations, they of course focus on the needy and abused and is as I said very worthy. Thats my caveat to the rest of the article. The charity raises its money through a night long ... Read the complete review

Children In Need is an annual event that comes around far too quickly for my liking. The basic concept of the show is an evening of 'entertainment' interspersed with appeals for money. Throughout the day children will have mufti days at school and shave their heads all in the name of charity. I'm sure Children in Need does a huge amount ... Read the complete review

It never ceases to amaze me at people's generosity, and how the human race can come together at any time to show can unified it can be. One of the main ways in which this happens is charity, and Children In Need is one of the biggest charities in the country, and certainly one of the most advertised and celebrated (if that is the right word) ... I must be getting a little soft in my old age but I found myself crying at this years Children in Need. There seems to have been two major stories in the news this week about children being killed by their own parents. I think it is great that a programme such as Children in Need can help children enjoy a better life. The true life ... Read the complete review

Well 'children in need' night looms upon once again, so i wonder what frolics celebrities will get up to tonight, to try and make the nation pledge as much money as they can for various children's charities?? Children in need has been existent since way back in 1927, when at first it was a 5 minute radio slot on christmas day. It wasn't ... Read the complete review

Children in need has come a long way since its 5 minute radio show in the 1920`s when they used to raise amounts around the few thousand mark. Nowadays the funds raised are in their millions with last year seeing 37 million raised for this excellent charity. The TV show started out more than 20 years ago and is still going strong ... I'm more of a Dooyooer than a 'dogooder' but I do try & do my bit each mid November when the Children in Need Appeal is at it's climax. It began in 1927 when the first appeal was a 5 minute radio slot which raised over £1,000 - I've just received my fundraising opack & letter inside is telling me CIN raised £37 million last ... CHILDREN IN NEED DAY ... the most hated day of the year as far as I am concerned... Now before you start slagging me off for being a right tight fisted old git, let me just point out that I'm not talking about the money giving side of things - that's irreproachable and it's a great advertisement for the generosity of the Great ... **HISTORY** BBC Children in Need will be gracing our screens this year for 22 years. Whilst this may seem like a long time, the charity itself has actually been around since the 1920's. For a charity that started as a five minute radio appeal on Christmas day 1927, which raised £1,143 (about £27,150 in today's money)you ... Read the complete review

Now, before I start this review - let me say that I think the BBC Children in Need charity is a VERY worthy cause, as a parent and primary school teacher I care for children a great deal, and do see many cases where Children in Need can help greatly. I have donated to this charity in the past, even dressed up in daft costumes, and supported other ... Read the complete review
