Chorlton & The Wheelies

Newest Review: ... something is wrong. Her persecution of the wheelies is under threat now that the eternally happy Chorlton has arrived. She spends the next 40 episodes and even the special trying to undermine and make Chorlton sad. When Chorlton is sad the world is a darker and unhappy place. Fenella has a motley crew to aid her in her fiendish and predictably useless plans, they include, Claptrap, fenellas taking spell book, O'reilly, fenellas telescope, her "toadies" and "spikers and "Clifford" her son. On the other side of the forest away from Fenellas home called "Spout Hall" is the wheelie town ruled by King Otto an... more

Premium Review Really MAD Tv (156 words)

A lot of seventies children's programmes were made by people who can only have been consuming too much Um Bongo. Chorlton and the Wheelies is one of the madder programmes that were produced. It can still reduce a room full of 20 somethings into hysterics by its bright colours and drugged-out story lines. Chorlton is the main character and he lives in Wheelie Town. His enemy is fenella the kettle witch who lives in a kettle and is surrounded by mad little cones that pop up and down through the floor. Chorlton is in capable of hating anyone of anything and has the catch phrase "hello little old lady" when greeting Fenella. It is ...  Read the complete review

Important news for Wheelie fans. It is available on video. I have bought both vids that have been released and I loved reliving every minute of the classic childrens programme. With Chorlton the Dragon (with a Lancashire accent), fighting against Fenella the mad Welsh witch living in a teapot with a German spell book, an Irish telescope and lots of little Chinese spikey things. Oh and there's also Clifford the Giant (you only see his huge foot) who is Fenella's well behaved son. Sounds completely bonkers and it is! When you watch it you might think it's a load of old nonsense not worth the money, in my case I thought it was fantastic. OK, here's ...  Read the complete review
