Advantages: Great show for those in the age range
Disadvantages: Doesn't quite hold the attention of younger kids
Chucklevision is a children's TV show that has been running for over 20 years now. I remember it as a child, and how it made me laugh, and I my son now watches it occasionally and laughs too. It features the Chuckle brothers, Paul and Barry, as they go about their daily routine, and invariably get themselves into trouble and it all endes in disaster.
While the show is not particularly educational for kids, it is highly entertaining, and the two Chuckle brothers are funny. The show is aimed more at 8 to 12 year olds, and although my 4 year old does laugh at it, he would much rather watch something else. Paul and Barry go from job to job, messing it up, before being chased away, and generally travel on a sort of pedal cart. They live in various locations throughout the many series, but rarely in a house, more normally in lesser dwellings such as caravans or quirky buildings such as old barns for the duration of their task.
The show often features some circus music to indicate how hopeless the two of them are, and this adds to the amusement of the show. Quite often, it is very over the top and a bit too much for adult viewing, and although it held my attention while I was a child (and even a student) I can't be bothered to watch it any more. I am sure that when my son is a little older, they will still be on the TV (looking as young as they first did over 20 years ago, no doubt!) and his attention will be held by the programme. For the moment, I will recommend it to those who have kids in the target age range, and it is even worth a go if you have kids younger than that, but don't be surprised if they soon lose interest.
Chucklevision airs daily on the CBBC channel, which is channel 613 on Sky. It airs a few times a day, and each episode lasts for roughly 15 minutes.
Summary: Timeless show that has lasted over 20 years!
