Claire Strutton was the replacement for Nasty Nick, who was evicted from the Big Brother house for cheating. Being the new girl in the house, chances were that Claire would not stay very long and in fact, she was evicted after the minimum two weeks. She was a good addition to the house though, being good fun and friendly, even though she seemed to get Melanie's back up ! Claire was particularly flirty and friendly with Craig, but it seemed to be done in a very cute, mischievous kind of way. Claire shocked the housemates by revealing she had had her breasts enlarged, which prompted Darren and Craig to become rather interested in them ! Although Claire was only a resident of the Big Brother house for a short time, she was popular with both the housemates and the viewing population. Since leaving the show, she has appeared on television many times and now has her own late night TV show. *UPDATE* Following a Channel 4 programme on the BB housemates on December 23rd, Claire was interviewed and explained what she has been up to recently. She is currently in pantomime playing a fairy ! She is in 'Jack and the Beanstalk' at the Theatre Royal, Windsor. Although she said she had never been on stage before and would be very nervous, she seemed to be approaching the role very professionally and looked great.
I felt really sorry for Claire even before we knew who she was. At the stage she entered the house the 5 who were left were getting on really well and had bonded after the Nick incident. It was good forsight on the part of the programme makers to not allow her to be up for eviction the first week she was there. I think the only way she'd have survived any time in the house at all was if the remaining housemates weren't getting along very well and she came in and helped unite them in some way. She was also put in a very awkward position by not being allowed to discuss any outside world events or anything she had seen going on in the house on TV. That couldn't have been easy. I'd liked to have seen how she'd done from the start of Big Brother. I think she'd have made it through to the last 4 or 5 because she was fairly easy going and fun loving. I guess we'll never know.
Claire was the biggest waste of time in the household, and the fact that she only was there for twelve weeks is a good thing. She is not attractive, nor intelligent, and telling everyone you've had a breast job to me defeats the object! She befriend Craig because he was a desperate scouser, and she alienated all of the other housemates in the process. Putting Claire in the house after Nick was kicked out to me was pointless because she had inside information, but yet even she couldn't use it to her advantage and was voted out at the first opportunity. Good riddance, and I hope we never see her again.
What I could never grasp in regards to Big Brother was just how unpopular Claire was when she entered the house. In to replace Nick she never seemed to be pretty normal and was never anything other than nice to the other contestants, but for the most part they (especially Anna and Mel) were not very nice to her. She was evicted at the earliest opportunity, but at least having sat around in a bikini and mentioning her plastic surgery for long enough she got herself a modelling contract with a bra company. What is it they say about whoever laughs last?
Claire came into the house to replace "nasty" Nick Bateman, and was only there for 2 weeks before being voted out by the public. Her and Craig got on like a house on fire, they flirted all the time and were always playfully messing about with each other. Their relationship reached its climax when they got in the steamy hot tub together. Craig licked Claire's back up and down, which was very saucy! Unfortunately for the viewers, their relationship never went any further than this, but this was probably due to the fact that Claire had a boyfriend who she had beeen with for ten years waiting for her in the outside world!
I heard on GMTV this morning that Claire would like to do some tv work, please say it aint so! Claire you will have to stop talking and try listening (she always interrupts the presenters and then the question is lost)and also please stop that annoying giggling, we do not need another Gaby Roslin, one is most definatley enough. I have nothing against Claire, but do think that she is quite immature and would find it hard to take anything seriously - light entertainment, late night on a satellite channel perhaps, sometime when I do not view.
I’m sure the other house residents (apart from Craig) are more than glad to see the back of Claire. She was annoying, selfish and she insisted on talking about her chest. She isn’t a mega babe or anything. She wasn’t bad looking, but it was obvious that after so many weeks in the house, the guys were desperate. There are not many things in life I have been totally certain about, but the fact that Claire was going to leave at the first time of asking was one of them. I voted for her twelve times. She owes me £1.20 for those calls.
Claire tried to block out everything she had seen and heard from the Big Brother house on the TV, newspapers, internet. She went into the house as a fresh face, and best of all, with a takeaway. Yet she came at a bad time; there were only 5 housemates left who had been through a trying time together and had pulled through together...Claire had been on the outside; she had not lived through what they had done for the past month. This cause immediate resentment and was unsettling. Especially for Mel and Anna. She tried very hard; partly to please and share the experience and partly to make her self unpopular...especially with Mel. Telling Tom he has nice ankles when she knows he's close to Mel. Perhaps the stupidest thing she did was hide the lighter... Oh well, she seemed happy enough to go....but poor Craig. His playmate gone, but she still maintains he never really had a chance.
I was really surprised that a new contestant would be allowed to join the house. I thought the est thing they could have done was to cancel the nominations for that week and evict Nick. Anyway she's been and gone and I'm not surprised, She claimed to have a high IQ but I think she seemed as dizzy as ever... well you know what they say ' all brains and no common sense' Along with her boob job a friend of hers has told channel four that she has also had a nose job. From the moment she entered the house it was obvious that things just weren't going to work out. She made no bones about flirting with all the lads in the house, started to take a leader position right away and didn't make much effort to get on with the girls. Completely pathetic went she accidently fell asleep in Tom's bed aswell. I don'e expect she'll get half as much press as the rest, I think the results were enough to show the world that no-one was really interested in her, with 79% voting her out. I just pity her poor boyfriend of 9 years.......
Ok, so Claire replaced Nick who 'supposedly' got chucked out for breaking the rules (I personally think it was set up to draw in more viewers, like myself!!!). I've only recently started to watch what all the fuss was about. Did anyone really think she would win? Ok, if you did, imagine Claire had just won, what would we, the public say? There would absolute UPROAR!!! For a start, she didn't even start from the beginning so she hasn't had to 'endure' what the others have (much). She has also had an outsiders point of view of the people inside (I think), and so she has already made opinions of everyone there. Her cooking didn't help at all. Stir-fry didn't help things much, with the 'enthusiastic' 'ummms' and 'this is quite good', you could feel the tension. Also, you should have seen the faces of the other two girls when Claire came in for the first time. It was a look of: Oh my gosh, it's another girl, how do we keep the boys to ourselves? Don't argue with that point cause it was BLATANTLY OBVIOUS!!! Anyway, Claire was just a number filler, and she played her part, now she must let the show go on.
Did anyone actually believe that Claire would last longer than two weeks? She didn't and only a really naive person would have. She got in on a technicality so ws obviously resented by the housemates at first and Mel felt threaten by her.Craig was mad about her but she just didn't belong there. She was nice enough but it would of been so unfair if she had won. Craig is gutted but he'll win in the end so he needn't worry about it.
I continue my series of reviews on those evicted from the Big Brother house with my thoughts on Claire. Claire's eviction was the least surprising result to date, with almost 80% of viewers voting for her to go. Since Craigs verbal battle and subsequant victory over Nick, he has been the favourite to win and I believe he will do so. Claire didn't have a chance. Walking through the Big Brother doors two weeks ago must have been very daunting for the girl who knew the way the media were reacting to the show; those already in the house do not seem to realise the commotion they are causing to the lives of some in the real world. Mel hated her immediately; the look of utter contempt on her face could not be hidden and you knew from that point onwards that Claire would get at least one vote. Mel did attempt to show some friendliness at times, but Claire said it felt fake and was only a show for the cameras. Few would disagree. Anna was much more welcoming towards Claire, but felt that her introduction altered the balance of the group. However, I still can't help feeling that Anna is "playing the game" more than people realise. Darren and Claire didn't interact all that much. In fact, Darren still seems to have most in common with Marjorie. There is not really a lot more to say about Mr. "(s)he is missing his/her family/business/pet budgie". His life-size model had more spine that he does. Finally, Claire and Craig seemed to hit it off. How much was true friendship and how much was Claire attempting to find an ally we cannot be sure. Big Brother obviously put Claire in the house in the hope to get some more viewing figures (it has been boring since Nick left) and Craig duly tried to win the affections of Claire. However, she has a boyfriend of 9 years (who must have loved watching her on TV flirting with people) and Craig's best chance was to get a hold of the life-size model Clai
re made of herself. She was not surprised at the eviction and seemed to enjoy her two weeks in the house. Her implants have become famous, as has her uncle who I believe is living with the Queen (I'm sure it was something like that). She wasn't there long enough to be missed, but Craig will have to hope she left her toothbrush behind for him as a momento of her visit. My guess on next weeks voting: Mel votes for Craig and Darren Anna votes for Craig and Darren Darren votes for Craig and Marjorie (he wouldn't want Mel to cry again, would he ?). If that isn't allowed, he'll go for Craig and Anna. Craig will vote for Darren and Mel. So, Darren and Craig will be up for eviction and Darren will walk, with an even greater percentage of votes than Claire received. Alternatively, with the show nearing its end, there could be more tactical voting. In particular, I could see Anna or Craig changing her voting to attempt to eliminate who they see are her main competitors. So: Mel votes for Craig and Anna Anna votes for Craig and Mel Darren votes for Craig and Anna Craig will vote for Darren and Anna. That would leave Craig and Anna up for vote - a closer one, but I still think Craig would be in the house come Saturday morning.
What a hard job it was for Claire. She was under no illusions - she knew she'd be voted out at the earliest opportunity and because she was not in it to 'win', she brought an air of fun and frivolity to the house, something which the others now seem to have lost. The tabloids had a field day with her - "nice tits shame about the hips" I read somewhere .... SO WHAT - she was a fun loving girl who brought normality back to the house instead of competitive tricks and two-facedness. OK, we all knew she wouldn't win merely because she had not endured the amount of weeks in the house the others had but I enjoyed her presence there - just to see the look of jealousy on Mel's face if nothing else! Claire will go far and good luck to her too!
Claire is obviously a maketing person or programme researcher for Channel 4 or soon will be if I'm wrong. There's no way that she wouldn't be voted off as soon the 'honeymoon' period had run its course. Obvious to everyone except Darren that is. Darren should be staked ou t in the chicken run to see if that is a real heart-attack inducing phobia or another simple charatcter flaw that plagues this the mosy naive houseguest that remains. He has assured that both Anna and Mel may rethink their nominations for the male ejectee for next week. It's just a shame that the public didn't have the opportunity to evict Darren this week. And Claire has such nice, if not entirely real, thru'pennies.
The best thing in the house as now been voted out!!!! If it wasn't not for Darren's shallowness when he saw Melanie crying, Claire might not have been evicted from the Big Brother house!!!! Claire was much more interesting than the moaner Mel, not to mention better looking by far!!!! I feel she had a true likeness towards Craig, which was spoilt when stupid, timid Darren changed his vote just becuase Mel shread a few tears!!! What right did she have to cry??? Hmmm,?? None!!!! There were only 4 people he could vote for so why was shy so shocked??? I hope Claire goes on to make millions and Mel goes on to make nothing!!!! That really would make my day!!!! Anna must be my favourite to win!!! Craig, although the bookies have backed him, doesn't deserve to win, just for the plain fact that he is sooooo anoying!!!!! I look forward to seeing Claire in newspapers and on the television, and I wish her all the luck for the future!!!
