Well, viewers including myself are certainly not clocking off from this show. It attracts millions of viewers, with its gritty storylines, and spotlights on individulas in each episode. It all focuses on workers in a Manchester factory, and their lives outside work. Different characters are profiled each week, and we get to see more about their situations, and who their friends are, what problems they have, and it is usually very dramatic. The last series was excellent, with stories such as paedophilia, love triangles, families being out under the strain, and a stabbing. What really goes on in a factory? If you're a snotty middle-class kid like me, you'll never know unless you have the incentive to work nights over summer for a horrid pay. But by cobbling together all those images you pick up from various places, you imagine a smelly, loud hall, crammed with people and machinery, and nobody really enjoys what they're doing.
