I guess it was always going to be a tough act to follow and maybe comparisons are unfair but this show just did not work for me, it was a bit too much like other school based American shows like Saved by the Bell for it to stand out as must see TV. Blanchard character Cher is a rich teenage child living in Beverly Hills with a father who she looks after following the death of her mother, she leads a pampered life and along with her best friend Dionne (Stacy Dash) they re the top girls at their school, in the early episodes the character is a little different to t... more

Well I loved the film so I would have thought that I might have liked the spin off TV series especially given a lot of the cast from the film also made the transition gto the small screen however this TV teen comedy was not a patch on the film mainly because Rachel Blanchard who played Cher was a pale shadow of the character created by Alicia Silverstone. Premium Review Clues to being an American teen with money (263 words)

This TV show was a spin off from the very successful film of the same name, some of the actors who played major roles in the film also appeared in some of the episodes of the TV series however Alicia Silverstone was replaced by Rachel Blanchard in the lead role of Cher Horowitz who is a rich girl living in Beverly Hills with her workaholic father. Cher is a really popular girl at her very posh, image conscious school. Image is everything so plenty of plastic surgery, latest fashion accessories and intrigue over being seen to be popular. One of the main actors from the film Stacy Dash who plays her best friend Dionne is in the show as are a few others ...  Read the complete review

I was such a great fan of the film that when I found out it was a television show too, I was thrilled. Even though the film stars a much more preferable Alicia Silverstone (Excess Baggage, Batman & Robin, Down to you) as the rich, beautiful and popularity unchallenged Cher Horowitz, the TV show has the second best choice for the role, Rachel Blanchard. (Are you afraid of the dark, Carrie 2) She recently starred in Road Trip along with Breckin Meyer, who has also appeared in both the Clueless programme and the film. Cher attends Bronson Alcott High and is the most popular girl in a school where everyone has mobiles, (yes, mobiles haven’t quite ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Better than the film! (237 words)

I have been watching the series for a little while now not knowing that there was a film to it. Clueless the film was on the television the other night so I placed myself in front of the telly and for 1 1/2 hours watched Alicia Silverstone doing her thing as a smart and pretty Beverly Hills teenager named Cher. Cher is a very spoilt teenager and everyone wants to be her. She belives that unless you are rich and have a lot of money your not worth talking to. Until a guy starts working for her dad. At first she hates him, but after a while they fall for eachother (the guy and Cher) and she realises that mony isn't everything. You maybe wondering why i'm ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Clueless: Based on the film! (145 words)

And starring many of the same cast but not Alicia Silverstone, unsurprisingly. It's amiable enough stuff, but not up to the high, high quality of the film. Cher is now played by Rachel Blanchard, who has also recently starred in "Road Trip, albeit with different colour hair (red rather than blonde!). She carries on the caring airhead sort of thing quite well, and the rest of the cast carry on with their roles, but it just seems a bit pointless after the film, where everything was pretty much tied up at the end! The storylines tend to be quite simple, but the humour's okay, not up to Friends or Frasier, but could be worse! ...  Read the complete review
