Cold Case is an American import police based sow and to my mind it is quite similar to Without a Trace in that it relies quite heavily on flash back scenes to fill in the gaps in the storyline. The show is based upon a specialist police unit in Philadelphia who specialise in re-opening old unsolved cases with the aim of either suing new up to date techniques to solve them or as a result of some new evidence coming to light, each episode has the team working on a particular case and the flash back scenes age the people that they are interviewing to make them look younger as they would have appeared at the time the events first happened. Cold Case is a police procedural set in Philadelphia. As the title suggests, the detectives in the show solve cases that have gone cold be it a murder that happened a year ago or eighty years ago. Cold Case first aired in 2003 in the USA and still continues today, it's now on its seventh season after beating Without A Trace for the last slot on CBS's 2009/2010 schedule. Cold Case airs on Sky One in the UK but is not available on DVD which I'll talk about more later. Each episode opens with a scene from the year the person in question is killed. That can range from present day to the 1920's. We see the murder victim with their family or out with friends before ... Read the complete review

I'm a bit of a US crime drama addict, I love watching CSI, Bones, and most recently Cold Case. Cold Case started in 2003 some its a bit of a late find for me, but thanks to good old sky repeating everything about a million times so I am slowly catching up on the missed episodes. Basically Cold Case is all bout cases that have never been solved (they went cold), some of these could be 50 years old and some could be a few years old, they all tend to be a bout either missing people or murder. The team (mainly Lilly Rush, Scotty Valens, Lt. John Stillman, Will Jeffries & Nick Vera) open the old case files (usually a family member remembers ... Read the complete review

Cold Case is an American Crime Show that has aired on Sky One in the UK. It follows Detective Rush and her team as they investigate Old Unsolved murders (or Cold Cases) after new evidence is brought to light. Cold Case is a True Crime Show, it follows the same path religiously every episode, Two of the detectives go to see the first witness/suspect, ask them a few questions, blame them angrily for the murder with little or no evidence and then at the end f the conversation the witness/suspect gives information incriminating another person. and then the whole thing starts again with the next suspect. Jerry Bruckheimer shows seem incredibly inept at ... Read the complete review

There is a plethora of US crime/drama/thriller series on our screens at the moment, and it is becoming increasingly hard to pick out the good stuff from the forgettable. Since 2003, one of these series has been Cold Case, featuring the cold cases that have not been solved that are assigned a team to see if they can solve them. Cold case units are given less publicity in general than the more frontline up to date crimes, and this is also the case on screen, with the majority of TV dramas showing actual cases rather than those in the past. Cold Case does a very good job of creating old cases, and providing us with an insight to the original crime, usually ... Read the complete review
