Advantages: Standard format works well, good commentary

Disadvantages: Old episodes too long

This is a channel 4 programme thats on weekdays in the early evening.
4-5 contestants have to have the other guests into their homes and try and impress them with a dinner party. They are marked out of ten and whoever gets the highest number of points wins £1000!

I love this programme mainly because of the sarcastic and funny commentary thats going on. Sometimes they even cut out what the host is trying to explain to the camera and talk over it with some witty remark.

The type of people that go on this show range from mad and loud, to lonely and the lonely ones are the sadest. They always tell the other guests that they hope they can remain lifelong friends, and of course the other guests tell the camera in private that they hope they never see the other guests again. How mean.

Some guests use a lot of alcohol to try and win, and there was one episode where a guest was sleeping on the sofa as they were so drunk!

The old format of having one dinner party per hour was a bit long winded, so now they either show all 4 per hour or half an hour per night. If your bored on a sunday afternoon, they show repeats of each hour episode so 5 hours of quality fun tv!

Some of the hosts are excellent cooks and make some great recipies that they put on the channel 4 website if you want to recreate your own come dine with me.

Watch this if you like watching people struggling to cook complicated food under pressure, watch their people skills as they try to become best friends with 4 strangers, and bitterness, as at least 3 of them miss out on £1000.
