Newest Review: ... individual actors and their characters are very strong, up they’re with The Sopranoes and The West Wing allowing you to think about the plot, as well as marvel at the all most real feel. They use the wobbly ER camera techniques, which doesn’t grab everyone’s taste buds. Although it makes it feel like a documentary and works for the better to the viewer. If you’re an ITV fan, then this drama will probably slide over your head. If your not and you haven’t seen The Cops on BBC2 then get there now!.It’s quite simply brilliant. Based on a fictional northern police station and the everyday lives and crimes of the coppers beat. It tries not to glamorize crime and tends to stick to menial everyday petty crime, rather then the pacey Bill type ITV glamour criminal activities. You won’t find the excellent actors in this show supporting suntans and tight fitting jackets, or having drinking problems in the center of The Daily Star, its just quality intelligent drama all the way through.
